Typical that others think they know what's best for the majority. I hate the fact I can drive a car, when used wrong can kill, can own a gun, again can kill when used wrong, and let's be honest, anything can kill, well pretty much anything can kill when used wrong and the same goes for this kind of knife or knives, but I can't have or own one of them. Go figure. I mean so gravity causes it to open or it opens automatically. What, that kills or wounds any different then a knife that I have to open manually does or can if used for that? Again, anything, whoops, pretty much anything can kill or would if it's used for it...

The original 1958 switchblade law needs to be disposed of,then it would be much easier to get rid of the state laws that are created mostly through ignorance and politicians looking to do "something" during their term. Kinda like Iraq. In most states switchblades are not totally illegal.

I carry a cam assist Benchmade and some Benchmade knives with the axis lock are quite quickand havent beeen accosted by the law for having them. Being a trucker I get to go through all lower 48 and have yet to have problems and if I go into an area where law enforcement may be a hitch I leave it in the truck.

I too carry the Benchmade Griptilian with the Doug Ritter S30V "stonewashed" blade with the axis lock...it is even quicker than switchblades that I've owned and can open/close with one hand...its all I need.

I have a nice Benchmade autoknife I really like. But, I carry a Remington Trapper for EDC. Depends on my mood, as to what knife I carry any given day. I do like having the option of carrying an autoknife here in sunny Florida. If I went across the border into Alabama, I could get into trouble though.

I don't like autos because they are fast, there are plenty of one handed opening knives that are just as fast, and some that with practice are faster in to action. I just like autos,I collect them, and as BD says,in sunny Florida we have the option of carrying them also.

MOD or Microtec are worth looking into also. Microtec had one called the Lightfoot with stonewashed blade cm154. Came in two models one manual and the other auto. On the auto if you have never seen one before or own one you wouldnt know how to open it, really tight fit in a good blade.

They're illegal in Texas except for collecting. These laws date from the 1870s. To be blunt at that time knives were the weapons of 'Whores, Mexicans and low lifes'. I carry a pocket knife as a tool, not for a weapon. If nothing else it might be easier to explain to a Judge why I shot someone than why I was in a knife fight.

| I was looking at an add for a socom and noticed the new tear drop shaped fireing button. Does it make it less likely to be accidently fired by being pressed against something? I can't tell for sure, but is there a raised area compleatly surrounding the button? If so it looks like a good idea.

Well, I'm in a state that doesn't allow much of anything and thats one thing you can't own, carry, buy, sell, have whatever. I'd move but I work for the state and I get paid good so I guess I can't complain too much.
