Kershaw Leek 1660cb

FWIW:
I'm not really a "knife" kinda guy.. I do carry a concealed weapon (legally) daily, but until recently never found a knife that I could carry easily, that would open with one hand, REALLY open with one hand, that wasn't an "automatic" knife..

I was checking out a local knife store with no intentions of buying anything and the gentleman there asked me what I might have an interest in.. I told him a folding pocket knife, one that could be opened with one hand, and could be, in a crisis, a good DESPERATION backup to my pistol.
Without hesitation he led me to the Kershaw case and let me hold and "try" several. I fell in love with the 1660cb, which has a three inch blade, "assisted opening" (SpeedSafe) and composite blade.

I'm a senior citizen and I just have difficulty opening the standard folding knife, but I can open this Kershaw very easily using just the index finger.
I don't intend to cut twine/wire/whittle/dress out dead critters/etc. with my 1660cb.. It just clips onto my front pocket, and disappears.. (It's very thin.) As far as I'm concerned when I'm "room temperature and toes up" that blade will still be unused..

The blade is EXTREMELY sharp.

I did notice the blade lock (seen near the end of the handle w/hex screw) had a tendency to "slide" up, locking the blade, and I didn't care for that, so I bought the correct size hex wrench, and with a dab of blue "threadlock" resolved that potential problem.

I am very pleased with this Kershaw 1660cb, and in fact have ordered a 2nd for a spare...
Best Wishes,
Jesse

For future purchases I suggest you go to youtube and watch some of Nutnfancy's EDC(Every Day Carry) Knives Videos. Here's a link::

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

He does pistol, tac gear, and wilderness survival videos as well. While everyone has their own method of everything his videos are very enlightening and just in case anyone goes to ask he is in the Military I think for close to or over 20 years and is a Lt.Col. I'm not sure which branch.

Did you ever take a look at Kershaw's new Junkyard Dog? Look it up. You might find you like it. Every knife is a personal choice for the owner, but to me this one is at least as functional as the 1660cb. Pls let me know what you think of it if you look it up.

You can buy the Black model Kershaw Leak at WalMART. My son is own is third one.
His first broke and Kershaw replaced it and he lost it while chaseing a criminal.
So he bought another one.
I hope I get one from him for Christmas . He knows how much I like them.
There the perfect pocket knife in my book LOL There very sharp and hold an edge...A.H

Thanks, I'll check it out.
Turns out I'm getting to be a real knife fan.. I bought my 2nd 1660cb already, and I can foresee more ao's in my future.
I just especially like that the Kershaw is all American made.. Seems hard to find that attribute much anymore, and I hate that.
I want to check out the Kershaw K1660G10 when I get my "play money" stash a little healthier..
Best Wishes,
Jesse

I have the leak and the chive (the little one). Had the chive first. I went on a cow elk hunt and when I was quartering the cow the two most useful tools I had were my hatchet and that little bitty chive. I could hold it in my hand with my index finger on the blade and just draw a line with my finger where I wanted a cut, and the cut was there. The folding bone saw I took was about useless.

And my half has discovered that Kershaw makes kitchen knives too. Which is good. Right?
