| Finally got enough ammo loaded to make it worthwile to take the Hakim out. I had a hard time adjusting the gas valve to where it didnt throw the empties into the next county but I finally got it to where most all of the cases can be reloaded. I also put some surgical rubber tubing around the bar on the bolt cover. That Hakim really drew a crowd yesterday. One guy was complaining about the muzzle blast so I completely ignored him. I thought..what a dummy...its a firing range! Dont like it? Leave. Nobody at the range had ever seen one. It performed perfectly for about 150 rounds till the misfire put a stop to it. I was getting groups that I was very happy with. The best thing was firing as fast as possible. Everyone stopped shooting to watch the cloud of dust behind the target. I gotta get me another one of these. I spent as much time showing the gun and answering questions as I did shooting it. The Hakim is one awesome rifle. It has become my favorite semi auto. Not cheap to shoot but well worth it. :assult: |

| I wish I had known how good these rifles were in 96 I saw one in a store in downtown Sacramento for 200 then and it was in great shape. I kick myself now for not buying it.

| I know a guy at work who has one for sale. I don't know that much about them. apparently this one was made around '52. Has a threaded muzzle break attached, I could swear he said an H&K muzzle break???? He said it was a comando or was it paratrooper model, one of 100 made. I didn't quite get all the info because I was working while he was talking about it.

| They are getting pretty scarce. Jerry, you might want to ask the guy at work how much he wants. If I ever find another, I'm getting it. They do have a threaded muzzle brake/flash suppressor. Dont know about it being an H&K. I didnt know there was a different model of the Hakim. That might be an interesting find! |

| Snakebite, The Hakim is not conduceive to reloading at all. But you are right about the "breeze" she will kick up. Have you figured out how to use the built-in mag loader? I used to go to the range to shoot mine, just to have some guy sit down next to me and "Fiddle" with his "Boss" system. You know Bang, Fiddle- bang, fiddle and so on... I cranked up my "Mad Egyptian" and sent him packing to the outer end of the range, could'nt handle the blast or breeze. It is a good solid rifle and as the others have said getting scarce. I am looking for a bayonet for mine. I have been told that you can "Adapt" the lugeman"s mags to run in the hakim. it may be cheaper to do that, as the last OEM mag's I saw at a show listed at $85.00 EA. Good luck and keep shooting.

| Hi REM.303, I have messed with loading with stripper clips. There certainly is knack to it. Not easy until you learn how. I normally dont load the magazine with the clips though. The faster I load it, the quicker I burn up ammo. Mags in Shotgun News are $89.95. I would like a new magazine but with the entire gun attached to it! |

| How-do jerry, been busy with work/family. Changed shops to clean up a mess, about 75% done. Still a long row left to hoe.... Snakebite, the last hakim I saw was at a gun show in Rapid City SD, It was in the best shape I had ever seen. This dealer guy had it at 7 shows in a row, could not sell it. He only wanted $385.00 for it. he finally sold it at the last show, about 10 Min's before I got there. oh well I still have mine. Nice to see you all in the forum. well got to go, the daughter needs the comp for homework. catch ya'll later.
