| Hakim: NJ legal? I wandered around a gun show looking at some great old semi-autos and I found the Hakim. I wanted it badly, but alas, I live in NJ. Does anyone know if it is a NJ legal gun? As far as I know, they only have 10rd mags. Also, if anyone has the same info on the MAS or Dragunov rifles, it would be appreciated. And one final question to make this post extra long. We know that the Hakim is a copy of the ljungman, but how closely related are the guns to the g43 of hitlers army? They appear similar and fire the same round, but how related are they? Thanks for your time guys. |

| http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5593 (What do you guys think) http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6468 (Ljungmann Ag42b) http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11701 (Shot the Hakim this morning!) I thought I would repost some older Hakim threads for your reading... The Ljungmann and the Hakim are closer to the ar-15 than the German g43, since they have a pistonless, raw gas system. The Ljungmann was hastily designed in 1943, but the Swedes were secretly anticipating a Nazi invasion, not comparing notes on small arms technology. Likely that the similarities are strictly cosmetic. I cannot help you with NJ laws on Hakims. It is an ATF approved C&R, but that means little in Lautenburg's state. You guys cannot even carry hollowpoints in handguns if my memory serves. Wish you the best on the Hakim. If you find NJ laws restrict your ownership of a Hakim, MOVE TO FREEDOM!

| thanks. i remember back in 92-93 there was a big C&R shoot in NJ. From what I was reading, there were Hakim, MAS, dragunovs, NJ legal FAL's, and all other sorts of guns that I thought were illegal. Oh well, i better do a bit more diggin around. Thanks for the info |

| If you find a decent Hakim, buy it. They are getting scarce and are a lot of fun to shoot. Its a real head turner at the range. |

| I don't know about the Dragunov, but if any of the above rifles are banned in NJ, it is. But I think I've heard of AR-10s in NJ just with low cap mags, so the Dragunov should be fine if that is the case, unless it is banned by name.

| If it will accept a magazine of over 15 round capicity, I believe it's illegal in the Peoples Republic of New Jerkski. Move to a free state. "Life is too important to be taken seriously."

| NJ legal I just got one from a shop in NJ and i'm from the nut squeezing state of Kalifornia... Check the N.J Department of Justice Web site... you may have to do a little digging but it will tell you what is banned and what accessories (ie high cap mags and so on) are also not allowed... if you can't find out for sure email the representive from DOJ and ask for a response... hope this helps... |
