| Member | Hey guys, Just got back from the range with the new member of the family. Picked up an Egyptian Hakim. After reading the posts and test firing this beast I was still unprepared for it. The noise factor was great. Had the guy next to me stop shooting and give me a glance. The blast of gas from the cycling was a new experience. I swear I can still taste/smell gun powder 4 hours later. Forget saving brass for this gun. Saw a few rounds fly 10 -15 feet in front of me. Luckily the surplus market for this is abundant. Was getting on target at 50 yds but didnt have any tools to adjust the sight. Next time I start going for the 10 ring. I looked on the tapco site for the gas adjustment port tool and from the picture it looks like its made out of pure plastic. Can any verify that this is the case or does it have metal in it? My only concern is the plastic will get distorted after awhile. If this being the case might have to order a few of them. |

| Member | Papa G This was the same gun. The shop owner knew nothing about the guns function, it was a consignment gun. Did some research on the web and found out enough to go back and test it. The gun was not oiled enough and therefore didnt function correctly. After giving it a good oiling it worked like a champ. |

| Senior Member | KNabenhaft-- I told you that you would have a lot of fun with this thing. Isnt it cool when you feel that whooosh in your face?! I modified an MG13 mag so that the Hakim can take 25 rounds. This is awesome!! I blew the hell out of a dozen cinder blocks at 100 yrds. Make sure you dont get oil in the gas tube. What did you think of the recoil??

| Member | Itcboy, I will let you know about the recoil as soon as i get some. This is a great gun to go out and shoot all day. Guess i need to go buy another 500 rds of ammo, because the amount i have now wont last much longer with this gun. |

| Senior Member | Are you using the Turk stuff? I just got 2100 rounds for about $150. You cannot go wrong. The are very accurate also. No matter where I aim it was dead on!

I made my gas adjustment tool from a junkey old screwdriver , with the Dremel tool . The Turk ammo is HOT and corrosive . Clean accordingly . Adjust the gas down , much easier on the rifle . Wyr God Bless | |

| Senior Member | WYRtwister, Welcome to the ranks of Hakiem Shooters, and yes you will annoy the other folks at the range. Put a piece of rubber hose on the brass deflecter, it will same most of the brass, but you will still lose 10-15 percent when you shoot. This rifle IS NOT conduceive to reloading. The new brass supply is drying up here in the states, so stock up now. it is also the perfect cure for the "BOSS" fiddling folks at the range, that flat crack the the BOSS system creates just drives my sinuses crazy, after 3 or 4 rounds, those folks sort of move down the firing line....Just to get away from the breeze it kicks up. Oh yes one morthing, if the "Box" at the top of the bolt cover is there, it is the stripper clip holder/charger. seat the 5 rnd stripper clip in the box, bullets facing up, then rotate the clip forward and down. volia! 5 rounds in the mag...
