Someone got a good deal?

I don't know much about this. Meaning I couldn't tell you if it's an actual old one someone had stored and didn't touch or an actual old one someone cleaned up? Or not an old one at all.

But for $380 bucks, I think either way someone got a good deal. Wish it were me. lol

I don't know what the Universals sell for really. That may be a normal price. I saw a Universal at a gun show about a year ago and it was $350. I will say its a nice one. I hear they are good little carbines. Somebody else may know a lot about them.

It looks like it may be an early model Universal so it may be ok. Universals in general are good rifles to stay away from. Too many problems. In fact my Type III Universal M1 Carbine is the only rifle I ever got rid of.

SN would indicate a 1st Generation Universal, with nearly all USGI components if none have been replaced, and the condition would tend to indicate it is original. As far as I can tell from the photos, it looks like a USGI slide.

Dealers generally go with a $350 price on Universals, but 1st generation models in good/excellent condition have been know to go for more because they aren't plagued with the later redesign problems and except for the trigger group and stock, the resulting issues re replacement parts.
