| Went to the gun show today, and came away with two carbines - an IMI-made .30 M1 Carbine and a Highpoint 9mm carbine. Been wanting both for some time. Prices were high on the real GI Carbines, so I opted for the newly produced IMI model. Nice wood, and a slick action. I bought a couple boxes of S&B ammo, and will get some UMC before taking the Carbine to the range tomorrow. Can't wait to put her thru her paces! I will need some 15 and 30 round mags, an oiler and a sling. Gotta accessorize! http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...arbineM888.jpg

| Well done. If you have never shot one of them before you will be pleasantly surprised. They are one the most "fun" guns to shoot. Let us know how it performs for you. |

| Please let us know how you made out with the IAI Carbine. Many have passed over my bench on the way back to Texas. No front band springs. Front sights falling off with the pin and key in place. The only magazine that would work was the one it came with and it showed major work with a file. Gas piston in finger tight falling out during firing. Please let us know how you made out. |

| So far the only problem is that the rear sight is a bit loose - it tends to wander side-to-side. The stock isn't finished as well as I like, so I've dismantled it for refinishing. I'll fix the loose sight too. At the range, it shot well, and seemed decently reliable. I think it'll shoot okay, once I get the sight locked down.
