| Just curiosity... Why this board doesn't get more activity? Surely there must be a few people around here who are interested in carbines.

| I think the reason is that many don't own one of these guns.

| curiousity killed the !!!!!..cat for the same reason theres no Carcano forum any more, lack of interest. someone gets a new carbine, a few posts and thats it. i feel its a lack of owners of carbines. so in the intrest of keeping this forum alive Jimb2 and myself graciouslly invite you to send us your unwanted carbines, in order to expand participation here. condition..rarity... don't matter the more unwanted the better. like the libs favorite "for the children" we are doing it "for the carbines" |

| Super Moderator ![]() | I've been toying with the idea of getting one in a Choate P-grip stock and trying to figure out how to make a beta-C type mag for it. Never been a priority though, since the ammo is so much more expensive than X39, 223, and even 308.

| I have a bunch of them. They are fun guns to use. I have taken more bucks with hand loaded .30 than any other rifle I own. All close up shots mostly in the head. Have two conversions in .45 WIN MAG and .50 AE both Le Mag reworks. DANA |

| Right now, I've only got a dozen of them. Most are fully restored or original. Some are rare variations like UN-QUALITY, Inland lineout Underwood, Inland spring tube models and M1A1s, but there are a couple of garden variety import maked ones as well. I love shooting those little gems.

| The other day I cleaning out the old truck and under my shooting blankets I found an ammo can. When I checked the label on it it was my range can for my little carbine. Lately, I've been shooting my one or another of my various ARs. By finding this carbine can filled with mags i figured the shooting gods were telling me its time to enjoy the carbine. I don't need a house to fall on me, besides the carbine is a fun little plinker and I'm due for some fun.

| At the range last week, a buddy had his Inland carbine there for some exercise. Dated early forties on the barrel. Nice piece, has enough wear to give it character, without looking 'beat'. He has another too, not an Inland. Bought them at an estate sale, when the owner passed away - the widow was unloading all her late hubby's guns. $150 apiece for the two genuine GI Carbines! Man, some fellers have all the luck! That Inland would bring an easy $650 at our gunshow! I just have to be satisfied with my little commercial IAI.

| I used to come here alot, but found many more postings regarding Carbines at http://www.ambackforum.com. There's quite a few carbine enthusiasts there. I am not trying to advertise the site, I mainly just lurk anyway. But there are hundreds of posts each week to their M1 Carbine forum alone, versus this single thread still active here.

| Looks like a pretty nice forum! Oh gosh - like I need to join another one? Heck yes! But G&G is still 'home'.

| Super Moderator ![]() | I've been able to aim pretty well with Gungeek's M1 carbine. Ammo price compared to X39 has deterred me from them thus far. If my ship comes in, I may see about trying to make a beta-C drum for it, since the lower diameter cases would make it quite compact. amback.com bought up battlerifles.com, an excellent site on the classic buttstroker rifles of the mid-century.

| I love the little carbines. I just assumed everyone else did also. For shooting with out beating up yourself all day like bigger calibers, the carbine can't be beat. And other than one or two "magnum is better" guys, I have never met anyone that didn't like them. |

| Hey BattleRifleG3, are you ready for the Steeler Game Saturday? I am originally from your area.(Washington County) I had my family send me down some terrible towels for the Game. Also Hank Williams Jr. will be singing the National Anthem. Are you ready for some Football? |
