M1 Carbine .......Collector Grade

New to the forum, it looks great. I have been collecting WWII firearms for a while and I am working on a site for Carbines. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions. I should have all the manufacturers up within the next month or so.

Thanks
Scotty

here is the site:

Thumbs up

Welcome to G&G, Digger! Your website looks like a good start. I don't have a GI issue Carbine myself, but several of our members do - hopefully they can give you pics and info on the makes not detailed on your site yet.

Down here in north Florida, even a grungy GI Carbine demands premium prices. I can only hope to luck onto an estate sale someday, with ridiculously low prices on the guns.

I really like the pics of the M1 Carbine manual - best detail I've seen yet on operation and stripping procedures.

Guys, this site could become a very good resource for the War Baby, if Digger can find more info and pics. Think we can help him out?

Thanks Big Dog

This is a good looking forum! everyone seems to get along in here.

The charts on the website are from the originals which are about 3' x 4' in size. I took a picture with a digital camera and cleaned them up with photoshop. If anyone wants a copy of the larger sized let me know and I will email them to you.

I have each carbine manufacturer and will eventually put all on the site. Also i will take pics of the parts for ID. It can be a bit tough figuriing out a tpe I from a type IV part when you just get started. Also iit should help tell the differenc ebetween original and fake parts (I learned the hard way).

Again thanks Big Dog

I've got at least one by each maker except IP. I even have a few oddballs like Spring tube Inlands, UNQUALITY and Inland lineout Underwoods. I also have a small collection of early parts like type 1,and 2 extractors, long face mag catches and serated catches. Let me know if you need pictures.
