Should I or shouldn't I...

I aquired an M1 Carbine in pristine condition a few weeks ago (serial # in the the 385,000's). It hasn't been fired in at least 35 years or more, and has been clean all along.

I really am torn as to leaving it un-touched in it's case as a collectors piece, as I would really like to take it out and empty a few clips.

Would shooting it be wrong?

I think it would depend on how much I had invested in it. However if it was fired 35 years ago a few more clips ain't gonna hurt anything. Personally I can't stand having a gun I can't shoot.

I shoot all of mine, but I'm careful about it. But to really make up your mind you should ask a couple of different questions like Is it a rare carbine? Is it rebuilt? Is it an import marked carbine?
The serial number you list is an early Inland. If so, it should have a mid 43 barrel date. It should have a very narrow barrel band with no bayonet lug. It should have a flip type rear sight, not an adjustable ramp. And it should have a push button safety, not a rotating one. If it has all of these features, rethink shooting it. But if it has the adjustable sight and bayonet lug.....blast away.
