| Stock mounted mag pouch
I got one of these online and noticed something odd. There is a snap type button in the back of the pouch that faces inward - toward the gun stock. There is nothing to snap to and this would scratch the stock eventually. Am I missing something? Sam |

Actually, yes! The pouch is a belt pouch that just happens to fit on the stock. The snap is there to hold the pouch in place on the belt. It was never intended for the stock. But the GI was resourceful. He wanted ready ammo that he didn't have to fumble for when he was under cover or in the prone position; so he put the pouch on the stock. He didn't worry about marring the stock. His primary concern was survival. We collectors tend to forget these things. Most of us just put a bit of fabric or masking tape over the snap to protect the stock.
