Selling my M1 Carbine

OK, I made a post over at gunboards to sell my M1
http://www.gunboards.com/forums/topi...OPIC_ID=124289

Now I've already recieved a couple of emails asking questions that I'm afraid I'm not so sure on the answers. If anyone can help me find the answers to any of these questions I would be ever so very greatful.

Does this have one or two recoil springs?

Is the slide handle stamped and welded with the hole in it that you can see the bolt lug through?

What's the serial number range? Production year?

Any muzzle wear? If you place a bullet in the muzzle does it swallow it all?

How is the muzzle and rifling?

Is it USGI compatible?

Two recoil springs - Universal manufacture. Off-brand. Not 100% USGI interchangeable, though there are many methods that can make GI parts fit.
One recoil spring - USGI
I think it may be more complicated than that, but at least most of the time that's correct.

Not sure exactly what that question means, but my guess is that some have a hole in the charging handle, the thing you pull back to cycle the action, where you can see the bolt lug. The bolt lug is a protrusion from the side of the bolt that locks into the receiver. The bolt is that round thing that rotates when the action cycles. The receiver is what it moves inside that everything else attaches to.

Somewhere it should say US Carbine or M1 Carbine or something, most likely on the back of the receiver. There will be a long serial #. Most people don't say the whole serial # for tracing purposes, but they'll give all but the last 3 or 4 digits.

Muzzle wear - Look at the muzzle. If it seems to be worn a lot on the bore, that would be muzzle wear. Take a loaded M1 carbine round. Stick it into the bore bullet first. See how far it goes in without force. That tells how much rifling is left. If it goes all the way in, it's pretty shot out. Some people will want you to measure how far it is between the barrel and the case mouth.

USGI compatible - I think everything but a Universal is USGI compatible.

Experts please chime in as I am far from one on the M1 Carbine.

What would you say for wear? If you can tell my this pic?
And the distance between the muzzle and the case mouth is only like 1 or 2 mm.

The only numbers I see on it is on the side of the reciever, just above the stock (28875) the side of the rear sights (507160060) and on the bottom of the stock (37) Im guessing the one on the side of the reciever is the serial? Any clue how I would find the production year?

Got another question:
"do you know if the barrel, bolt, and other parts are USGI (should be marked)?"
The only markings I see are those that i listed above.

Couldn't find an exact date but Plainfield made them from 1960- 1977 when Iver Johnson bought them out.
