A really good buddy of mine has an M1 carbine…he took it shooting with us this past Sunday…it is an extreeeemely accurate rifle…I was surprised!!

I know very little about that particular rifle and did not expect it to be quite as accurate as it was…are they generally very accurate?

accuracy varies quite a bit depending on the condition of the muzzle. I'm working on a study right now to show the effects of muzzle erosion on carbine accuracy. I've got the 50 yard test results for 10 carbines so far. I'll be testing another 8 tomorrow and hopefully another 7 this coming weekend. Several of the ones that have decent muzzles (M.E. under 2.5) are surprisingly good averaging 50 yard groups under 1.5 inches. The best 5 shot groups are under 1 inch! I think that pretty well sums up the accuracy potential of that little rifle.

Well, I got screwed again...CMP sold em all out before getting my order processed Due to Erroneous Information from the NICS Instant check ( that I have been trying to get straightened out for 2 month or so and I've been fingerprinted 4 times now and They still have Me on a DELAY basis !)...so I still need a Reciever to replace this one that Blew apart into 5 pieces !
