universal broken bolt, HELP

Hello Folk,

New to this rifle and thread, stumble across you guys on an internet search. Picked up a Universal carbine today, couldn't resist for $100. Soon found out why, after about 40 rounds the bolt broke, right near the extractor. After reading these threads I also realize that it is the 2 spring model, not good. Besides this problem, the gun looks relatively unused and functioned well up to that point. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement bolt, new or used? Anyone out there have a parts gun? Will a GI model replacement fit? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Mike

Try Gun Parts Corp. They should have the right bolt. Make sure they know that it is a late two spring model. The USGI bolt will not work in it.

The two spring models seldome accept GI parts but maybe your gunsmith can find a GI bolt that will headspace to your barrel. If he can, plan to spend $100 for labor and $50 for the bolt. Make sure you tell him about the broken bolt. Something had to cause it to fail.
