Also fired my IBM yesterday ...

I know we're tired of hearing about my new M1 carbine, but I fired it too yesterday. What a blast! It's like my first squirrel rifle on steroids!

Sure.

Between the age of my digital camera and the fact that IBM was notorious for lightly stamping their markings. You can barely make out the 9 - 43, I.B.M. Corp. and flaming bomb stamps on the barrel.

You can tell it has been through a post war rebuild build because of the bayonet lug and the adjustable sight. It sure shoots well!!!

Sweet Carbine, nice pics, thanks. When I saw the title, all I could think of was The Donald saying "You're Fired" to a typewriter.

I bought it from a fella on gunbroker. It was my first online gun purchase. It was a good buying experience.

Besides being a fun little plinker, the M1 Carbine represents an America that stopped making typewriters and adding machines to crank out some really well engineered war implements. In 38 months, ten companies tooled, set up manufacturing facalities and produced over 6 million M1 Carbines. To me, THAT'S the "sleeping giant" Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto feared he had awakened.
