Rock-ola value ?

I have a M-1 rockola that was given to me several years ago. I was wandering about a rough value. The finish is original, the rear site is missing, the sling well has been filled with wood and the stock refinished, the action and barrel have "rock-ola" spelled out, and the butt plate does not have any identification. There is some faint writing on the right side of the stock but cannot identify any definite letters or cannons. That is a brief description any help would be appreciated.

To go out on a limb, in the condition you describe, probably about $400 - $500. A Rock-ola, from what I can find, can go up to $1200 - $1500 if in perfectly good condition and originality.

None of the books can keep current. If the carbine itself is in good condition and functional and all that is really wrong with it is the missing rear sight ($25-$30) it is worth around $600. For "restoration" purposes to military rebuilt condition, M2 stocks are available for around $35-$40. Rock-Olas are fairly high demend carbines as they are one of the hardest to get due to being produced in the smallest numbers. There are scarce variants that are harder to find, but I'm talking about standard production carbines.
