UNIVERSAL CARBINE STOCK

IVE GOT A UNIVERSAL CARBINE THAT I'M FIXIN UP AND I WAS WANTING A FOLDING STOCK. I CONTACTED CHOATE MACHINE CO. WHO MAKES THE ONLY SYNTHETIC FOLDER I KNOW OF FOR THE M1. THEY CARRY ONE NOW THATS FOR THE GI MODEL M1 AND SPECIFICALLY STATES "WILL NOT FIT UNIVERSAL CARBINE". THE AGENT AT THE COMPANY TOLD ME THAT A COUPLE YEARS AGO THEY HAD A FOLDER THAT WAS SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR THE UNIVERSAL CARBINE THAT THEY HAVE SINCE DISCONTINUED AND NO LONGER HAVE ANY LEFT IN STOCK. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO ON THIS. MAYBE YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS ONE OR KNOW A DISTRIBUTOR OF CHOATE STOCKS THAT MAY STILL HAVE ONE LAYING AROUND. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS.

As I understand it, the opening for the trigger housing was larger. It might be possible to modify the GI style if you can't find one specifically for the Uni.

im not sure but i think the uni there talking about is the dual spring version becuse the dual springs required a wider space to mount into they widened the triger housing

I believe you are correct. But the GI housing will work in it too, but it will be a sloppy fit.
