| A friend needs reassurance. Here is the deal. I have recently decided to order a CMP carbine, due to everyone's suggestions here. (thanks by the way) I told my buddy about the prices, and he got excited, because he just wants one to have as a blaster. However, he still wants it to look semi-nice. I went ahead and told him that it would fine if he just got a rack grade, because it will definately be shootable, and most likely not look too bad, so I was thinking: Anyone with an M1 Carbine CMP "rack grade", Post Some Pics!! I know you want to show them off! |

| And even if it is dirty, stocks can be cleaned and solvents remove the cosmolene.

| The CMP rack grades are usually pretty nice. The wood may be somewhat worn and the bore (muzzle) will show some wear. Shootability...great. Replacement wood can be gotten at Fulton Armory Home Page at a very reasonable price if needed. You are thinking OK. Keep in mind, however, these little guys are about 66 years old and have been in the hands of many different operators; so don't expect them to be near mint. Good luck! and good shooting! | I have one and its in good shape. The bore is nice and shiny and the muzzle doesn't look worn at all. The wood needs to be cleaned up just a little, but it's in decent shape. CMP is the best deal going for carbines and garands.
