| M2 Carbine barrel wide flat groove missing:
hello got a new Inland M2 Carbine, and I found out that the barrel doesnt have a serial number and the wide flat groove around the barrel that is located after the front sight is missing. Is that due to oversanding or buffing that makes this thing disappear?.I try to compare to the other M1 Carbine on the internet and all I can see is that they have all the wide flat groove around the barrel mine doesnt. I am afraid to fire the weapon especially to full automatic because I am thinking that the barrell will burst due to excessive sanding and will result to injury or accident. Is it true to what I have seen amongst the rest of the carbines that the barrel is bevealed to give way to the front sight when installation? or it is really bevealed? I need help before I will go to the firing range Thanks & best regards jamrosgerx |

Barrels don't have serial numbers. If the barrel isn't marked, then it could be a commercial barrel. If so, the shape of the barrel could be a bit different. No carbine barrel that I know of is beveled.
