Wow that carbine looks very fine! I think I'm going to put some BLO on my Garand stock pieces over the CMP finish that is on the CMP stock that came with it. I think it will bring out a little grain. You did a great job there! Congrats on another CMP gun. If only I were that close too... Looks like its a pretty good shooter too

I-C, I suggest cleaning the stock before coating it. If you don't, it will just be blotchy. I would suggest removing all metal then coating it with "smooth" not pumice GO-JO and leave it for 10 minutes or so. Then wipe it off and give the stock a quick hot water bath to remove the residue. Let the stock dry over night then coat it with BLO cut 1/2 and 1/2 with thinner. A few hand rubbed coats of that and you should have a nice looking stock.
