| CMP Carbine in <30 days!
I don't mean to brag, but... I sent in my paperwork 9/28, so figure it took a day to get there. I ordered as a new customer. They charged my card 10/23 and delivery date was 10/28. This is quite shy of 2-3 months promised, so far my experience has been positive. Let's hope my Garand clears fast as well. I didn't make it in time for the ammo. I probably shouldn't have been so honest and checked the website before I mailed it, or else they might've filled my order anyway. If anyone is put off by the wait, order now! Hopefully you'll get one just as fast. |

I don't see any photos of this carbine, so it must not have happened.

POIDH, eh? Very well. The wood is a little rougher that I'd like, and that sticker residue needs to go, but the bore is very nice. I know it's a light carbine intended to replace pistols, but never having held one before, I'm still surprised by how light it feels. I always thought that Malcolm X's arm would get tired carrying one handed. So now I need to get mags. As I understand, I need to replace the magazine catch with an M2 version in order to use 30-rounders? Anyone have a good source for magazines (15 or 30), or brands to search for/avoid? Congrats on the Carbine!!! Guess they are starting to catch up. I was supposed to wait 180 days for mine when I ordered back in May. I got it in 90 days. Just may have to order another one!

The CTD carbine mags work great. I'm guessing the Koreans made them for their own soldiers so they made them to specs. I ordered 6 of their 30 rounders and 1 of their 15 rounders and they all functioned perfectly. The 30 rounders had the bolt hold open follower, but not the 15 rounder. |

She's BEAUTIFUL!!! I've been to the north and south store a few times now, and it's really hard to find a good quality rifle in a good stock.. You're saying it's a little rough, but it looks like it'll need minimal cleanup for it to be great!! Centerfire Systems has 15 round mags with the hold open feature. M1 Carbine 15rd Mag Part #MAGM1C-KR15 I ordered 3 but they're sitting at my local FFL with a couple AR15 receivers I also ordered.. I need to get down and do paperwork and pick up the mags before I can tell you if they're good or not. I just reasembled my last Carbine from CMP last night. I stripped the stock and gave it 5 rubbed in coats of BLO and one coat of Tung Oil "finish" from Formby's, and then went after the dried tung finish with steel wool.. I couldn't be happier with the results!! Thanks for the pics of the new addition, and we're all looking forward to your range report!! Oh, AIM has ammo for $19 for a box of 50 right now!! Based on the comments above I just ordered six 30 round magazines from CTD. What sold me was the hold open feature when the last round is fired :>)

Congrats on your carbine!! Looks like you're in for a bit of fun with that one! I know I love shooting my own to say the least. I was hoping for a 1903 Springfield, but they are all gone

| I also noticed that the CMP is out of USGI 15-rnd mags.

| Yeah, but they're usually very available at most gun shows.
