Hi all, What was odd about the testing of the new front end in 1940 on the M1 Garands sent out to Fort Riley? This one will have you at the books Have fun Thanks again Clancy |

Hi all, The answer is a hard one. When Ordnance sent down the M1 Garands with the new front ends Ordnance also sent down ammo for the testing. Fort Riley used old stocks of M1 Ball and did not use the ammo sent with the rifles. This had Ordnance have them explain why they used their old ammo. Ordnance then had them retest.
