Surgery done and doing well {Pictures}

Thanks to all who emailed me and posted here.
Once they went in they found a bone spur,, arthritis and a rotator cuff tear plus joining interior cartilage. In photo 2 you can see the repair.
I am not allowed to drive for 3 weeks nor even sign my name I was told. They gave me a nerve block in the neck which killed my hand and arm but once that started coming back I felt the full pain. Sleep sucks as the sling is not allowed to be removed for 2 weeks. I think I may be out of commission a bit longer than originally thought. My doctor is and has been the team physician for the Cleveland Indians since 1991 so I was in good hands.
Well enough for now as this is slow typing for me. Again thanks for all of the prayers. Rick B

This photo shows the arthritis and the repair. The 1st one shows the tear and spur. My daughter was worth every bit of this injury as she is safe and happy. Thanks again everyone. Rick B

good news, listen to the RX's and take care not to do anything too soon!!! it may void the warranty!!!

Good to hear Rick - take care and take your time getting going again -- you don't need a relapse.

Stock Doc...Best of luck in your recovery and rehab. Takes time and patience, but getting your life back is worth the pain you're going through.

Those pic's look familiar. Three years ago I went though the same operation. After going through "passive exercises" for a few weeks, my physical therapist started me on more active exercises. Thought he was going to twist my arm off at times...but that was what was needed. He needed to "force" me to go beyond the point of pain where I would normally stop without his encouragement. After a few days of doing the more active exercises my shoulder would loosen up and be ready for the next torture exercies.

This process took about three-four months before he released me to get back to doing my favorite exercise...which is playing tennis. Even then, I could barely get the ball over the net at first...but now...my shoulder/arm feels better by far than it had felt in years. No pain. Nothing. Taking out those bone spurs helped a bunch, too.

Got my injury when I turned over a four-wheeler, and landed on my shoulder at the sand dunes at the Little Sahara State Park, near Wynoka, Ok. I'm beginning to think I may need to slow down a little eventually...whenever I start maturing

Good luck Stock Dock. Glad you're on the way to recovery. The worst is behind you. :right:

Glad the Doc knows what he's looking at. All looks like greek to me cept the repair. Heal up soon. Those pipes are corroding faster now that your out of commission.
First time on site for a while. Different. Hmmm.

Rick, glad to hear that your surgery was successful.

Take the time to heal properly without over doing it. There's no sense to undo what has been done and making the matter worse.

But, anyway, I sure hope you heal completely and feel like a new man and pain free.

Joe is sloppy??????????????????........no chit......say it ain't so!

I feel allot better than I thought I would at this time and just hope my progress keeps on track. I appreciate the kind words, emails and phone calls from everyone. Thanks,,Rick B

Good to get your progress report. Glad that you're improving. It just takes a little bit of improvement each day to add up to being all healed again...ready to get back to what you love to do best.

Get well fast!
