Talking the new baby

Ok follow up to my other thread. I grabed my uncles muzzle gauge and went back to the shop. It was a 2 on the muzzle and a 3 on the chamber. To say the least I have a M1 garand now with all numbers matching except the stock and the butt plate. Got 2 bandolers of ammo and a job offer

Sounds like a good one. And yes, pictures if you can get them. But of course everyone knows the M-1 when they see it. That's nice since it's the type of gun that get's respect anywhere you make it visable. Mine had a couple folks wanting to look at it only minutes after I bought it at the gunshow.

Wow, I wish mine looked that clean. You said the numbers match, too? Even the trigger group? Looks like an early style trigger guard so if it's an old one looking that nice, you're pretty lucky. Did you pay a fair price? And what's the serial number range, if you don't mind? The stocks are really unique with all the little "speckles" I guess you could say. I love it!

Nice and I like the M14 butt plate on it. Honestly it looks neat and will draw attention at shoots. As for the stock you can use Fibeings Shoe Leather dye on the Birch and get a nice deep red/ brown color. I have great results with it. Rick B

I love details but mis allot still. Notice the curved op rod also??? If it is a early -0 number I am interested???? It has a early trigger guard and possibly a round barrel band there??? Heck I got allot of deals that way by telling a customer what they had then trading or buying a part when I needed it. I fully tell them the worth also before I even talk price and most then sell it lower than value for honesty. I love this hobby. Rick B
