Gentlemen, Sorry about this photo but again these files are on old microfilm. Here we see the heating lamps and the Barrel and Receiver group going into the greasing conveyor. Notice if you can the Stock it above and the Barrel and Receiver is pointed DOWN. The greasing tank is just below. COOL Looks like the heating lamps here used to keep the viscosity of the grease flowing. Pointed down would keep the grease from running down the stock/action. This bit of automation would speed production and lessen workers exposure to the grease. Heating lamps nowadays would most likely be repalced by gas fired infra red pads in an application like that.
