Rack Grade CMP M1's

Technically, the "woodless Danes" are considered rack grade, and I've just about gotten my recent unChristmas present ready to go to the range.

Functioning, so far as I can tell just handling and using a timing guage, is fine. Condition: well worn parkerizing, but no rust or pitting. Some new parts: both Breda and Baretta (Italian) and a Danish VAR replcement barrel (MW and TE both 3+) Nothing broken, no stripped threads, all seems to be there and servicable.
-
The proof of the pudding, however, is in the shooting, so jog my memory next week, and I'll give you a report on how she shoots. (If we don't get our promised/threatened weekend of thunderstorms and torrential rains.)

A fellow cadet in my ROTC unit bought one for WWII re-enactment purposes, and he says he loves it. He has shot live rounds through it, but isn't an experience marksman. He says he likes it though.

got a RGLW. Had to replace barrel. Slapped a Boyd's stock on it. My no-name Ebay barrel shoots GREAT. But sighting system is verry low. Gas system is good.
Get one while you can. the price keeps going up.

Love my Dane Rack grade. A few minor replacement parts, Win trigger housing. Original 1943 barrel. Shoots 3" groups at 125 yards. (longest at range) Stock is a little rough with non matching hand guards. I have a cartouche though :right: I love it to death. I wouldn't trade he r for a prettier one, no way.

CMP Rack Grade...

Went a-shootin' with my recently-acquired woodless Dane on this past Saturday. No problems with functioning at all, and, like all M1's, she speaks with great... um... authority.

Groups? Well... given my eyesight, not too shabby: 3" to 4" at 100 yards.

Pictures are in the "Woodless Dane" thread.
