| USMC Adopts the M1 Garand Gentlemen, After a long testing period the USMC Adopted the M1 Garand. Here is a copy of the Adoption Order. Yes, the USMC that landed on Guadalcanal had their standard Model 1903 Rifles. Ordnance at that point in time was being overrun with requests for the M1 Garand Rifle. SA just couldn't keep up with the Production Order's for the rifle. Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History.
