Gentlemen, The US is at WAR as of Dec. 1941. Many of you guys thought that what I called Winchester-Gate was funny. To the troops in the field BECAUSE of Winchester the troops at that time didn't think it was funny at all. They were to busy dieing. Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History. I wonder if they were busy developing the Carbine, filling commercial demand or just dragging their feet!

"Many of our troops in the field are still without rifles." That was totally unsatisfactory. I assume Winchester picked up production pretty quick after that.
