Why didn't they listen to....

Gentlemen,
...Mr. Garand when testing was going on with the cleaning rod for the M1 Garand Rifle ? What did he want done, any ideas ?

I think that he wanted to get more out of the cleaning kit than just cleaning the barrel. Like the unscrewing the gas cylinder, cleaning the bore, and cleaning the gas clyinder. All in one piece!
