Here's my 2 Guess I should have posted a little more info on mine. Both are Springfields. One on the left, Dec 1942 that came from the CMP as a Woodless Dane. Shoots pretty well for a rifle with an almost shot out VAR barrel. It's still a work in progress. On the right , my first M1 from the CMP. Aug 1943, Started out as a Rack Grade Greek return. A lot has been done to this one. New Criterion barrel, all new internals from Orion 7 including his stainless steel oprod spring, new in wrap gas cylinder from BB Kings, all set in a Boyds stock that has really been worked on.This one is a real shooter! Shoots a lot better than I ever will. Sure is a joy to shoot this "Ol Warhorse"

Fellas, I can't figure out how to move fotos from the gallery to here, so you'll have to go there to see 'em. I figured out how to get 'em there. Only got one M1, but I've got one of it's nephews. Also got a couple of Mosins in that picture. And a couple of Mausers. And a couple of others. I love M1's, but could only afford one. Scotty

Old War Horses

Top: Harrington and Richardson, 1956 w/ 2-56 HRA barrel;
mixed parts; Boyd's stock; Arlington Import.

Bottom: Springfield Armory, 1944 w/ 5-60 VAR (Danish) barrel;
many mixed Italian and USGI parts; CMP stock; Civilian Marks-
manship Program, "Woodless Dane."

Yes, they both shoot better than I do.

mine is dark because of all the greese and oil that soaked in the stock wich by the way is 60 years old. I think I have the original stock dunno all the markings I think have worn off lol. I dont plan on stripping it because I think it would ruin the historic value of the rifle and a bit of its history.

CMP from the North store July,07, SA SG 5.9M. CMP stock set

OK, I went to my photobucket account, copied the address, pasted it in the address bar they put up here and all I get is the dreaded red X.
I post pics on three or four other sites with no problem. Whats up with this site? Help!

Talking

Weelll, here is my Garand pile, along with a lone 03A3.
Most are WW 2 Springfields from 600K to 3+ mil ser nrs, one of which has the A added to the ser nr with the certificate from CMP and an H&R that is in the first 500 built by H&R. The one on the Right end is a new Beretta rec that I'm building up as a 7.62 Nato with all new original Beretta (PB) parts. Still lack a few parts.
Still got to pick up a Winchester, but no hurry, will wait for one at the right price.
