1938/Funds for M1 Production

Gentlemen,
This one is for the new guys. During the production of the M1 Garand in 1936 until the US entered into WW2 Ord and SA needed funds to keep production going. This is one of those letters.

A Veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America” for an amount of “up to and including my life.”

Thanks again for taking the time and effort to read this data. I hope you have learned a little of the history of the M1 Garand.
