Question for the group

When it comes to Springfield Armory rebuilds and/or DCM/CMP rifle sales, are there any records available? I contacted CMP to see if my gun was sold through them and was basically told they had no record of it but that their records only went back to 1996. Would joining the GCA do any good in this regard?

Thanks,

Randy

CMP would be the only ones to have those records., but joining the GCA is still a good idea. They had a great article about all the goodies to come that are in CMP warehouses.

Unfortunatly there are only around 100 IHC's in the lot, my guess they will be auctioned. Around 5000 Winchesters (they will go fast), but many HRA's
62 Mil rds of ammo may sound like alot but buy it now if you can as I bet that doesn't last more than a few years

Your ? ain't stupid, Cap'n. Stupid is me after a few shots of whiskey (like now?) . The GCA is a wondeful way of finding speific pats for restorations, too. I've shot, maintained, gunsmithed and "restored" hundreds of M1's and carbines, etc. and I don't know crap. Some of my M1 customers know every little cartouche and drawing number but I never paid much attn. It's a simple brilliant system and if everything is close to mil-spec it will do its job w/o fail.
