| You think that Garanditis is bad, wait until you graduate to the Govt. Model 1911's. You may not have interest now, but.......one day you eventually will. MIke

| Military Rifle Collector ![]() | B A R Ohio Ordanance has new milled receivers semi auto only for around $1500. They also have some original converted receivers for around $3000. I didnt look up the exact prices so I may be a little off. But you can google Ohio Ordanance and look around there.

| My son has a C,M.P. Garand that he just bought and brought to the range yesterday. the rifle is accurate and shoots well, only problem is it kicks the clip out after six rounds in the eight round clip has been fired. The ammo used was Greek military surplus and reloads that he reloaded after I had pulled the bullets and removed the military nprimers from the brass. He used 47 and 48 grs of IMR 4895 in his reloads and CCI Lg. rifle primers and the brass in his reloads and the bullets I had pulled from the afore mentioned brass. The Greek suplus he fired as is and the clips used were those that came with the ammo. Does anyone have any idea why the clip kicks out or rises so that the 7th round does not chamber? ![]() |

| It can be a number of worn parts. First and simplest and most common part is the clip latch spring. Remove it and stretch it and install. If it fixes the problem buy a new one. If you still have the problem report back and we will go from there |

Blog Entries: 6 | ITS HERE, ITS HERE!!!! And what a beauty too! I asked for a WWII SN but no can do, that is ok though, a service grade M1 Garand is finally mine! She is SN 5848XXX, Springfield Armory with Federal Eagle proof marks on stock and barrel, from what I gather around early 1955... what a beaut! Only real major dings in the wood are on the rear hand guard, I will see if that steams out, but I don't think it will since the wood looks a little broken around the edges of the dings. I haven't had her apart yet, getting ready to do that now, I just wanted you all to be the first to know!
