| Got my 1st M1 yesterday
About 5 days ago I posted that I had found a M1 for $300.00. Well I brought it home with me yesterday. Put the oil to it last night, will do more cleaning this weekend. On the back of the reciever it say's. US Rifle Cal. 30 M1 Springfield Armory 486584 Barrel say's- Blue Sky Arlington VA. Small crack in forearm, stock has a few dents in it, that's to be expected. Ok you M1 guys, did I do OK? |

you did well... as far as cost, much better than mine ! How is the barrel? Mine is a matching barrel/receiver set from July 1941... I built it piece by piece by part number to get it as close to accurate as possible. |

Haven't got to clean bore yet, will do that this weekend. Outside looks good, all markings easy to read. From what I have found out, according to numbers, made in Feb. 1942. Will get into it more, as far as cleaning goes this weekend.

Try go get military ball ammo. Make that non-corrosive military ball ammo.
