New owner, new parts Hi everyone. I have just installed a new op spring in an M-1. Never been fired by me. I've stripped, lubed and reassembled and I think its ready to go. Going to fire it and wanted to have someone wish me luck.

| Senior Member | Welcome to GnG. It's not a cure for Garandits but you can certainly talk about your addiction. We're all ears. Especially Billy, his avtar is the best self portrait yet. Pics. Even if it looks like 5 million other Garands we want to see pics. Look/search for one of my post. M1 Garand Mesquite stock. or I like big weapons. love ya billy ![]() http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...ssageboard.jpg

FM Jack, Lefty, thank you. NP, I'll take pics tomorrow. Although its 23:30 here I just took the rifle out onto my deck and let loose a round. (safely into a dirt berm, of course) Couldn't not at least check if it cycled properly and it seems to be in working order. Range time tomorrow. And yes, the ammo is supposedly very good M2 Ball. It came in clips and bandoliers. Bud

I said I'd take pictures and how couldn't I with this beauty in my house. Well here she is, what do you think? She may not be the prettiest in some people's eyes but I'm growing quite attached to her. I'd like to do some improvement work on the wood. The headstamp on the shell matches the HXP marking on the can. Does this work? Its supposedly non-corrosive. Its obviously older stuff but its been cleaned up nicely. Fired one round (late) last night and seemed to cycle well. Going to try to make it to the range later today.

resqr1942, Welcome aboard G&G, congrats on your purchase; it won't take long to get used to her. Good looking rifle. The stock doesn't look like it will take alot of work to get it finished. I didn't notice any big dings or scratches. Tell your dad, Thanks for his service to this great country.
