I've joined the Garand Club!

I acquired a Garand at a gun show yesterday! It's a Springfield and serial number puts it at Sept 1944. I'm pretty sure it's a CMP Service Grade, but most people that looked at it after I bought seemed to think it was in better condition than that.

It should be fun to shoot anyway! Let's see if I can get these pictures to work.

The M1 Garand Club

Johnnycat...

Welcome aboard!

You are quite correct that actually shootin' that good-lookin' rifle of yours will be a lot of fun. M1s can get addictive!

Welcome to the forum.
You have yourself one of the best shooters ever devised.
A good looking one, too.

I bought two service grades, with the exception of 1 small part on each rifle, they were really really close to being "correct" grades, and better looking than several "collector" grades that I have seen.
But then, the CMP has been very good to me....
