U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1 Roll Call

Guys and gals, this is the Garand roll call thread. Post your Garands here. Post how many you have, what models, and any pics you want to share! Lets see how many Garand owners roam G&G!

I will be the first to say I just happily received MY FIRST CMP Service Grade Springfield Armory Garand! Its a December 1944 serial number, with a 1953 barrel. All parts seem to be SA stamped, with varying serials. I could not be happier!

If any guidance is needed, pop on over to the Mosin Nagant Roll Call thread and check it out there too.

Begin posting!

i have one m1 garand (for now) sadly its a century arms Frankenstein rifle, actually came with three different wood colors, and the stock was originally Italian (i think) so it had an extra inch added to it, but i did manage to replace the wood and make it look correct, but i would love to get an actual WWII one

You can always collect them vicariously through the pictures of SEAN's rifles.

BTW, thanks for the postcard.

This is my June/July 1941 manufacture M1 Garand #273XXX

... age is showing though, need it rebarreled and it is in the shop getting the stock shaved down and finished.

... I guess it could be called a "Frankenstein" rifle since I built it piece by piece on a matching barrel/receiver platform. The only parts that are not original (by part number) are obviously the stock and rear sight (a type-2 since a type-1 is 900.00 IF you can find one)

... thanks White Rook.

... it will look better once it's rebarreled and the stock is finished. I'm having it done just as they were in 1941 as a tribute to my Grandfather. (a WWII Veteran)

I have three.

One Korean War Springfield in the 5 million range, with a HRA Op Rod, and a Winchester safety.

Another Springfield from 1944, I forget the serial #. It is all Springfield.

And one CAI that has mixed Beretta, and Springfield parts.

5 CMP Service Grades. 3 SA's, (Two built up from barreled receivers), 2 HRA's, one of which is a very nice greasy Greek return.

I'm down to one Garand. An April 1944 Springfield Armory M1 with original Springfield Armory barrel. It has mostly Springfield parts with the exception of a WRA bolt. It was pretty rough when I bought it, but after I cleaned her up and added a new stock, she's a real beauty and definately the crown jewel of my WWII collection.

Springfield receiver and barrel. HRA bolt, and WRA trigger guard, but the rest seems to be Springfield.
S/N 5890xxx, not sure what date that would bring it to.
barrel July '55

Thumbs up

Hmm, well I've got near half a Platoon of Garands.
These are all WW 2 Springfields except the one on the left, which is a Beretta that I'm slowly building as a 7.62 Nato using only new PB parts.
I also have a CMP Springfield and an H & R(which I'm going to sell).
I'm looking for a Winchester, only interested in the rec/bbl being Win as I have all the other parts.
