As far as live fire requirements...that is easy to get and you will have a lot of fun doing it! Conservation club of Kenosha Country in Bristol is just north of you and they have CMP service rifle shoots every month. Also, the ones I shoot in are at the Beloit rifle club. The cost is 15 bucks at the Beloit rifle club plus they sell M1 ammo for the shoot. The guys that run it are great and quick to help if they see you need it. Not sure about the Kenosha place as far as times and cost but both shoots are open to the public and are Sunday Mornings. Either place will qualify for the CMP competition requirements. These are well organized, well run but not high stress. Loads of fun! Let me know if you want to shoot in one of the CMP shoots and I will shoot with you! P.S. You can shoot any service rifle from the WW2 era as well! Doesn't have to be a Garand! Last shoot one guy shot a Yugo mauser! And he shot it very well too!

Thanks for replying texnmidwest. As for the other muzzle gauges, I'm only finding one other? And to be honest, it doesn't look all that good a quality? It looks as if someone makes them out of their garage or small warehouse or something? lol But this one here is the one I speak of. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=132591876 And the reason I'd like the CMP muzzle gauge is because CMP seems to be what the standard is and everyone seems to go by? And I'm not sure I have anything besides the Garand that would qualify? If it looks like it's going to turn into a 6month wait, then yea, I'll have to maybe get one of those, or that "other" one?

The guage that dornot sells is the same one sold by Fulton Armory and Scott Duff.I have one, good quality.I would have bought one from CMP but I didn't have 6 months lee way in looking at some rifles for sale.It also will work on any .30 cal rifle. The only thing I dislike is the markings are hard to see without good lighting.

Yea, I just got a reply to the email I sent to CMP. Said it could take 2-3 months to process and ship my order. They're currently working on orders from 3/23/2009. WOW.WOW.WOW I'll have to get one of the other ones I guess. WOW.
