| Garand pre sale repair question
Im thinking about putting my Garand up for sale but it doesn't eject about two out of eight rounds most of the time, sometimes it works perfectly. anyway i want to fix this before i put it up for sale. does it sound like the extractor may be out of whack or could it be something else?

If the extractor isn't slipping off of the non-ejected rounds without distorting the rim, it may not be the extractor. If the rim is torn up, the case may be sticking in the chamber, which may indicate the chamber may be pitted or contains carbon buildup/crud. If some of the rounds partially eject & hang up in the action, it may be short-stroking due to a leaky gas system. More info would be helpful. HTH Dave
