| To quite around here {Eye Candy} Thought I would post some early butt plates and see if anyone can name who made which ones? Its easy with only tow manufactures so you have a 50/50 chance hehehe. Rick B

| Believe it or not I'm not positive on these nor others as it seems as the stamp dies were changed or worn out it can vary. It appears the 1st on left is a Winchester from all data collected to date with the second one being Springfield #3 appears to be a Springfield also and 4 a Winchester. The missing diamonds on the edge are supposed to be Springfield and full boarder is Winchester. To handle them in person helps more than a photo as reflection on the 3rd one makes it hard to see the missing diamonds on the edge. But remember this is only formulated data from rifles that were supposed to be original with No-Trap plates on them. Also I understand the Barn stocks had them on some which was a formula for who made which ones. Now if a sub-contractor or contractors made them it would make no difference most probably. Rick
