Ok I was just curious. I might have to see how it will fit on my Garand. I bought one of those aftermarket leather ones, and it sucks. Its not broken in or anything. I don't like it. Its big, and gets in the way. But don't forget to sign it up in the roll call thread

The reason I say this is because the Garand was designed to shoot FMJ ammo only as far as I know. The reason is the feed ramp into the chamber. It is steep, and soft point ammo,in my experience, won't slide up. Here is another great site for Garand in and stuff: Fulton Armory Home Page Jason

I bought one of the after market leather slings for mine, and used Saddle Soap on it to loosen it up and it worked great. I have the original canvas sling, but I don't really like it.Saved it though for collectors reasons. Jason

Hey Jason, I am loading some 165grn Hornady Interlock Bullets, and 165grn Nosler Ballistic Tips, I will definitely check and see how they work, if they work. lol If they wont work i will be forced to succumb to the temptation to reload with some Barnes Triple shock hollow points! I like the Fulton Armory it's just depressing going to their site and seeing all that "stuff" for my rifle and not being able to afford it. lol Hey and thanks for identifying my stock as well I had wondered about that. Lar, if I get a buck it's a deal!! No prob there man. If I can hit a Buck with my M1 I will be tickled to post a pic of it and my rifle together! |

Guys I have used the M-1 Garand in combat and love them for they NEVER failed like the Matel toy M-16. I bought the WW II poster from CMP that says "My M-1 does my talking". I had it framed along with my picture holding the Garand on patrol to show that I did use it in comabat and that's my feeling entirely My Garand does my talking with AP bullets :>) I earned my Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) with an M-1 :>) Jim |
