Pretty simple:
1. Download the Order form. (You CAN'T order online)
2. Look through the requirements that authorize you to order from them.
3. Fill out the order form; including credit card number or ATTACH Check
4. Include required attachments such as proof of authorized affiliation
5. Include other attachments for proof of ID, training, etc...
6. Have the order form Notarized
7. Mail the order form to the CMP
8. Sit back and wait a few months.

pretty simple.

I have two CMP garands and a carbine. Well worth the time and effort. Plus, fulfilling the shooting requirement is addicting. Loads of fun!

Well, let's get together and you shoot mine and you tell me!!

For what you are getting you can't go wrong. You will get and excellent rifle that has been checked over by a competent gunsmith that is an expert in Garands. If anything is not right when you get it the CMP customer service is legendary for correcting problems. Just ask anyone who has gotten one from them. Mine came in with a ME of <1 and a stock that looked very good. Every spring was crisp and action was tight.

You will have to wait a few months for one but, believe me, you will not be disappointed.

Service Grade Garands from CMP will excede what they have listed as for condition. Period.. Worst case scenario, if you're not happy with what they sent you, you may return for a refund or replacement, and CMP's customer service is fantastic..

Except for Leon, at the South Store.. There's no description for that man.. Wealth of knowledge who can't wait to share it, to the point of excitement to tell you what he knows and what can be done.. Amazing man..

So, get your requirements fulfilled.. Member of a CMP club or organization, and some sort of shooting requirement info..

You can order and wait, or drive yourself absolutely batty and visit either the north or south store in person and become the kid in the candy store, and pick out your own rifle(s)..

Either way, you'll end up with a fantastic weapon at a very reasonable price.

It's been asked a few times before, too..

Anyway, you'll be happy..

I just finished rubbing on the second coat of BLO onto the stock of the Field Grade I picked out at the South Store a couple weeks ago. It didn't start out as much, which I why it was graded as a Field grade, but it cleaned up nicely and will be a great addition to the family when I get it done and back together.

Gotta say, my Springfield Armory service grade Garand sure looks nice. It shoots great too. You won't be disappointed at all. Its well worth the wait! But some people are close enough to just drive there for instant gratification. Wish they had something like that around WA.
