New in box Garand

Are they making new Garands? I assume this is Springfield, Inc.

If this is still NIB from the 1940's-1950's that's quite a deal!

That's well within the price range of a NIB SA,Inc.M1.Last suggested retail on them was around $1500.Some have sold as high as $1800 on GB.The CMP has had some unissued in the box rifles in their auction, they brought $8 to $10 thousand.

From the looks of the stock and the price I would say its a Springfield Inc commercial copy. They no longer make Garands

My local gunshop has a new M1 and M14 sitting on his display rack. I never asked about them because I was not intersted in paying the prices he want for them but another freind of mine told me that they were reproductions and that they were chambered in .308 and not .30.06? Is their such a rifle?

I'm pretty sure Springfield Inc.'s Garands could be ordered from the factory in .308/7.62x51. At any rate aftermarket barrels are readily available.

You are right, you sure could. I have a Springfield Inc. M1 chambered 308/7.62x51. Love it--great shooter!!! Only have to stock one caliber ammo for the Garand and my M1A!!
Think they quit making the Garand in '02. 'Mo.
