Sorry guys didn’t mean to leave you high and dry on the pics…

At a little later date I can post individuals if you guys like.

EDIT:

The top one is (as they all are) a Springfield, the bi-pod is after market, and the scope mount is after market. Next one down is a Springfield with a Genuine Springfield Bi-pod and scope mount. The next is a Springfield scout, the most interesting thing about the scout (to me) is the scope, it is a genuine Springfield scope, in addition the scope mount is genuine. The bottom one while still a Springfield, has no bells or whistles, but I have some assurances it holds less than 1MOA (as I understand it less than .5MOA) and is an excellent rifle out to 1k. However I have not ever personally shot that far, though I will likely begin shooting at longer ranges and try to work my way up to that…I have as yet not attempted it.

They are all Springfield M1A’s the bottom one has been glass bedded and had weight added to the stock … it is a 1000yd rifle if I take the word of the former owner who is a magnificent shooter.

We go to Fort Gordon twice a year for sort of an invitational .50 shoot. The closest target area is 800 meters, the furtherest - - is a mile and a half! We shoot on range 16 which is basically an arty range. It' a kick to drop fitty rounds out that far, you can launch an I.T. round and sit up and watch it fly out to the target! It takes a few seconds to get out a mile and a half, it's kinda neat!
I usually take an M1A and a couple of FAL's to plink at the 800 meter targets, it's a great place to get to shoot!

M1A range

I too am an avid M1A/M14 shooter. I actually own a NM M1A and an M21 Tactical which I shoot whenever I have a chance. I haven't heard of any range around this area that has a 1K distance. The longest is a private range for silhoutte in New Braunsfell and I think it goes to 600 yards only. Keep on shooting and maybe just buy yourself a land and invite us all to come shoot at your place.

I am a bit disappointed to see no ongoing conversations regarding the M1A rifle. At any rate I just wanted some one to know that I love this rifle, and I am looking for a place to shoot one out to 1k, so if any one knows a place here in\around Houston TX please let me know.
My family owns a lot of land up north of Dallas. If you wanted to go up there it wouldn't be a problem. You'd probably find a better place on the side of the road on your way there though.
