| Guys it was a good idea, they convert 30 Lmgs and Bars but I think its to late, Slick Willie had a lot of them scrapped and whats left might be needed to augment the troops for sniper duty. But if you could find enough I for one would love one. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | I Think its possible and I posted it as it is one of the many rifles I am sure all of us would want in our collections. Now last I checked signing the petition is a voluntary thing so if you think your wasting your time don't sign for those of us that think its a good idea we will sign.

| Hey no problem' I was just pointing out the facts. If this petition has been going around since before 2003 don't ya think maybe its just one of those urban legends ? Didn't you read the links directly from the CMP forum from the director of operations? Its not gonna happen ,no matter how much we all wish it would |

| Perhaps we'll never see M-14s converted to M1A configuration being offered by the CMP, but it can't hurt to try and persuade the goddamyankee gummint that there is serious interest among the shooting public is obtaining such a rifle via the CMP. Besides, if someone in a position of power tells the BATFE that these here remanufactured, ex-M14s are now M1As, so just y'all siddown and SHADDAP, they would have to go along with it. There must be ways to exempt a converted series of M-14s, most of which involve tracking by serial number I suspect. |

| I signed it. I don't think it will do much good, the government hasn't given a crap what the people want for quite some time. But I guess it can't hurt to try.

| okay, now weve changed the story from converting them to selling parts. well they have sold off some parts, but im pretty sure they wont be selling any more, as they are all currently needed. if you want a semi auto version of the M14, go buy one - they are available , no waiting on the government to do something thats not going to happen. |
