All USGI with marked parts being TRW built on a SA Inc reciever. Small parts came from CMP when they sold them and was built with a NOS TRW barrel. Rifle is no longer wearing a scope. Tried it a few times and I prefer irons |

Beautiful bunch of rifles here. I probably should have NEVER looked here. Now I am thinking I need one.

Here's my old warhorse Springfield s/n 0164xx, is this an early one? Its not pretty, but it shot pretty good with Federal 180gn hi shock. 100yds off a bench,I have some LC Match brass, need to get back on the reloading bench!! ![]() ![]() Last edited by GUNZABLAZIN; 02-09-2009 at 09:37 AM. |

s/n 0164xx should be a early to mid 81 build. I have 0155xx and it was born on 10-80. Be sure and check the bolt recall, that era of bolt had some soft ones. If you e-mail SA with the stamped #'s on the bolt they well tell you if it needs replacement. If it does they well send you a shipping box with label to return the complete rifle for repair. Does not make any difference if your the original owner or not. That's great customer service.
