Are the Springfield mags worth the price vs generic mag looks like $55 vs $14?

No. CMI makes the Springfield mags, so save your money and buy them instead. As far as USGI goes - there are so many counterfeits these days it's hard to tell if you're getting ripped off.

I bought a bunch from 44mag over a year ago with no problems so far. As stated above, beware of crap in disguise.
