Price on an M1A

Hi guys, I just bought this rifle from a buddy(I hope) that was selling it to help his brother with the high price of chemo. It is an M1A Springfield, Stainless, has a leapers 4X illum. ret. 10 round mag and has about 200 rnds of ammo. Gun has a few scratches on it but all in all it looks to be in very good condition. Did I just get fleeced out of 800 bucks? Thanks for the info.

Considering that a Norinco pre-ban M-14 up here at the gunshop was tagged at $1,700 with no optics, I'd say you got a GREAT deal.

The gun alone is well worth $800. I haven't seen a m1a under about $1400, and that is just the basic.

You stole it. It's worth at least 1200 bucks, maybe 1300 with out the scope.

The peep sight on that SA well probably out shoot that scope. You don't get good results on that platform with a cheap mount and scope.

Really...really...good deal. You need 20 round mags? Pick up about 6-8 good quality mags; USGI or equivalent.

Thanks for the revelation Rex. That is a $14-15 difference. It looks like Sportsman's Guide may want to review some of their prices. I would certainly reward the business that gave a better deal on the same product with a bigger overall purchase if I could get substantially “more product” for the money.

You got to watch SG, they are very high on most things they sell. You can normally beat their prices easily with a little shopping around. They have some good "on sale" prices some times but for the most part they are high.

We need pictures.

... be careful with the magazines and don't but the pressed type. Make sure the magazine catch block on the back of the magazine is of the milled type.

... http://www.promagindustries.com has them here : http://www.promagindustries.com/Prod...uctCode=M1A-A1 ... the real deal.

... the 'others' fall out when you fire the rifle. Yep, I was duped ... don't want others taken by the advertisers.
