No, I did all the work fitting the beavertail with a file. I wanted a pro finish on it though, not my amateur swill.

Child shoots self with grandmother's gun at SC store
Jun 9, 05:31 PM EDT

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A 4-year-old girl shot herself in the chest Monday after snatching her grandmother's handgun from the woman's purse while riding in a shopping cart at a Sam's Club store, authorities said.
A witness, Lueen Homewood, said store workers grabbed first-aid materials off store shelves to help the grandmother as she cradled the wounded child near the store's pharmacy, The (Columbia) State newspaper reported on its Web site.
The girl was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and was recovering Monday afternoon after surgery, said police department spokesman Brick Lewis. Hospital officials would not release her condition after the operation.
Lewis said the grandmother, Donna Hutto Williamson, has a permit to carry a concealed weapon. The purse containing the small-caliber handgun was in the cart near the child, Lewis said. The 47-year-old Williamson, of Salley, was not immediately charged with a crime.
Officials said the shooting, which was captured on store surveillance cameras, appeared to be accidental. Lewis said police would not release the video.
The store was closed while police investigated the shooting. It reopened Monday afternoon.

Safety Rules Related to Your Firearm's Holster and Ammo Carrier.

Avoid carrying a defensive firearm in a purse, pocketbook, daypack or briefcase. A firearm carried in that fashion is:
  • Typically hard to rapidly access due to the presence of slow-to-open zippers, multiple latches, etc.,
  • Often hard to find and draw amidst all the other items routinely carried, since few purses or briefcases include a dedicated handgun-carrying compartment,
  • Prone to being unavailable when needed, since briefcases, purses and other carriers are routinely set down or put away in a desk drawer where they may or may not be readily accessible and under your physical control,
  • Unusually vulnerable to being stolen, since purses, pocketbooks, daypacks and briefcases are prime targets for purse snatchers, pick pockets, muggers and thieves,
  • Prone to misfunction in an emergency since materials carried along with your handgun in a purse or brief case may gum up the firearm's mechanism and potentially interfere with its proper operation, and
  • Likely to allow your handgun to accidentally become visible to shop clerks, bank tellers or other parties while you are searching for your checkbook or locating a credit card, and that inadvertent exposure may potentially result in a tense situation or even a tragic over-reaction on the part of an individual noticing the firearm and/or summoning law enforcement officers to the scene.
  • Allows children access to your handgun.

I tried to do that with 400 Cor-Bon. It was a disaster. Dang thing absolutely refused to feed right. Ended up buying a 10mm, instead.

I have a few

That's what my son said last time he visited. Then He asked how was my blood pressure & where do I keep my "will" just in case!!

Pistol in lower right corner is a total rebuild of a Argentine Sistema (every pin, part, spring inside has been replaced) with a hand fitted matched Kart barrel and bushing.Refinished in Black and OD Green. Its my shooter.
It keeps me from shooting my US&S, Ithaca, Colt & Colt Mixmaster.
8 of the pistols in the picture are Argentine Sistema's acquired over the past 4-5 years

Re: I have a few

Most of mine were acquired by being in the right place at the right time.
Most Sistema's were purchased in the $350-$425 range. A couple I paid a little more for because I wanted a particular rollmark. Like the Argentine Air Force one I purchased off of GB for a tad over $500.
Many were purchased at local gunshows (last day of show, last couple of hours) were I could wheel & deal a little bit on the price.

They are out there its a waiting game.

Lets see....
Colt Nat'l Match.... nope 1911
Kimber gold match ....nope 1911
US model of the Army 1911.... nope 1911
Springfield Inc. 1911A1.... nope, put a straight mainspring housing on it....1911
Taurus pt1911 yeah today at least ' till I put the new mainspring housing on it.

Of course with one exception, they are all 1911A1 framed guns, just have straight mainspring housings the colts are not modified the others have beavertail grip safeties.
