In 1962 I had a 1911A1 .45 ACP, parkarized and all. Got the gun thru the NRA as a military surplus item for $18.75 +/-. Several years later I traded it off for another handgun. Dang it! Wish I still had it.

I only shot it less than a dozen times. As a result my accuracy wasn't acceptable.

Colt 1991A1 for me.

I've shot my buddy's Springfield 1911A1 - I prefer mine.

1. Colt 1911 made 1913 and all original, carried by my Great Uncle in WWI. Still had dirt in the frame when I went to clean it when I got it from the estate.
2. Colt 1911A1 made 1944 w/ post War rebuild SA stamp.
3. Remington Rand 1911A1 late 1943 production date.
4. Colt M1991 parkerized w/adjustable Bomar sights.
5. Colt Combat Commander, in Stainless Steel
6. Springfeild Armory 1911 in Stainless Steel
And if you noticed I'm kinda partial to my Colts. Was Born and raised in Hartford, CT. And remember staring at the Colt on the Dome of the old Colt building every day as we drove by in the family car.

Ever seen an Ithica 1911A1? Serial No. indicates 1944 . Doesn't look like it's ever been fired.

Got a Ballester Molina 45. It was made by the Colt 1911 Model. Wonderful pistol to shoot and very accurate. By the way, anyone know of where you can get parts for it? Found a few, but prices are from outterspace.

And for you all, what do you like better, parkerized or blue baked?
